CVE-2026-33017

Langflow Code Injection Vulnerability

Langflow Langflow

Langflow is a tool for building and deploying AI-powered agents and workflows. In versions prior to 1.9.0, the POST /api/v1/build_public_tmp/{flow_id}/flow endpoint allows building public flows without requiring authentication. When the optional data parameter is supplied, the endpoint uses attacker-controlled flow data (containing arbitrary Python code in node definitions) instead of the stored flow data from the database. This code is passed to exec() with zero sandboxing, resulting in unauthenticated remote code execution. This is distinct from CVE-2025-3248, which fixed /api/v1/validate/code by adding authentication. The build_public_tmp endpoint is designed to be unauthenticated (for public flows) but incorrectly accepts attacker-supplied flow data containing arbitrary executable code. This issue has been fixed in version 1.9.0.

CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities

Listed by CISA on 25 March 2026. US federal agencies were required to remediate it by 8 April 2026.

EPSS — exploitation probability

FIRST puts the probability of exploitation activity in the next 30 days at 24.8%, which is higher than 97.9% of all scored vulnerabilities. EPSS is a forecast of activity, not a measure of severity, and it is rescored daily.

How severe is CVE-2026-33017?

CVE-2026-33017 is rated CRITICAL with a CVSS base score of 9.8. EPSS puts the probability of exploitation in the next 30 days at 24.8%, higher than 97.9% of all scored vulnerabilities. It is listed in the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, with a federal remediation deadline of 8 April 2026.

How should organisations respond to CVE-2026-33017?

Apply the vendor patch for Langflow Langflow as the first priority, and treat any internet-facing instance as the most urgent. Because this vulnerability is associated with ransomware activity, also review whether the affected systems were reachable before patching, rather than assuming that patching alone closes the incident.
